"High-Performance Remote Desktops for HPC: Integrating NICE DCV with Open OnDemand"

In this session we introduce NICE DCV, AWS's high-performance remote streaming protocol, as an alternative to VNC for remote desktop sessions within Open OnDemand. We'll go over what this technology brings compared to more traditional solutions, touching on aspects such as graphics performance, network behavior, and user experience, among other factors relevant when choosing one option over another.
From there, we'll look at how NICE DCV integrates with Open OnDemand, covering its architecture and the key elements to keep in mind during deployment and configuration, both on the web node and on the compute nodes. We'll close with some thoughts on the scenarios where this integration can bring the most value to an HPC cluster.
